Today, Promigas is a firmly established organization in the gas sector of Colombia, with an investment portfolio made up of 20 companies in the services of transport and distribution of natural gas, the distribution and sale of electricity, integrated solutions for the industry, the generation of energy and liquefied natural gas -LNG. It is the oldest private natural gas transmission company in Latin America.
With proven competitiveness and success it arrived in Peru in 2006 with the acquisition of 40% of Cálidda, the natural gas distributing company in Lima and Callao,
The company has been making inroads in the inclusive business of providing non-bank financing to the lower socioeconomic strata, providing customers who have already canceled the connection to the gas service with loans for the purchase of products such as appliances and building materials to contribute to improving their quality of life.
Through our Promigas Foundation, created in 1999, we conducted a voluntary social management plan with a long-term perspective and to develop capacities that allow us to build relationships of trust with families, schools and other local community actors. In its 15 years of operation, the Foundation has worked in 14 departments and 180 municipalities and towns in Colombia, 68% of the latter belonging to the Caribbean region and 48% to other regions.
The promoter role of Promigas in the creation of social institutions should is also worth of being highlighted, which includes, among others, Entrepreneurs for Education, the Surtigas Foundation, the Gases del Caribe Foundation, Terpel Foundation and Gases de Occidente Foundation.
